An interesting aspect with the mind-mapping I found out about was the fact that in the face of unbridled creativity, you can often write in a way that makes you decide to do something – but when the point comes that you want to action your decision, reality creeps up and bites your bum with painful repercussions!
Needless to say an event cropped up that didn’t quite go the way my map had indicated, but it still happened in a very positive light.
The thought, if anything helped shape the positivity in the encounter, for that alone can help immensely when a difficult situation arises.
Where would I be without that thought to guide me? probably running away from the demon I unleashed! lol, well that is a little colourful, but certainly the thought was invaluable in nudging me in the right direction with the encounter with a new friend and co-worker, Antonello. It’s strange, we really have struck what seems to be a very good friendship in the space of a few short days!
On another note of interest 🙂 it seems Mr Kimbro (Lion) has invited me to be a part of a project of his which revolves around creative expression and implementation like
Spirit in a Moving Canvas
He was interested by the name of this blog and some of my ideas when we chatted earlier. I am happy to take part in this, it seems the creative opportunity I’ve been looking for and a real way to make friends and find myself in a new light 🙂
That’s enough for one blog post though, if I can get some good material together for this project, I will share here too.

Since the last post things have kicked off in a big way, not only have I started the map but now I have seven thoughts which encompasses more than just simple run-of-the-mill musings but certainly some insightful and interesting results. One of the thoughts I have are quite negative on the face of it, but actually since writing it has came about a shift in those kind of patterns too.
So, yes, it is certainly an interesting tool to be used to communicate your innermost thoughts and ideals. I showed my mum those thoughts last night, one of the few people whom I would trust with every thought in there, she found the whole concept very interesting and she really thanked me for trusting her to read them 🙂
Another thing I’d like to write about, is actually writing – you know, using a pen and paper not typing blindly into a computer! I found this to be quite a revelation, the connection that comes from putting pen to paper and writing is something very special indeed, it allows you to think and flow far more easily, well worth trying out – even if, like me, you haven’t actually written anything in a very long time!

Where to start? Well, the other week I happened to remember an article I heard about on the news about someone who wrote all of his thoughts down and organised them into maps and categories – like tracing all the paths in your head in order to make it easier to recall events and make decisions.
One quick google search for “Write every thought” turned up results to Mr Lion Kimbro’s website: http://www.speakeasy.org/~Lion/nb
Wherein I downloaded a book he’d written, which he has made available for free, to anyone that is interested. The basis of the book deals with the way he organises his thoughts and makes a sort of data-catalogue, albeit in a rather verbose/convoluted and technical manner, but as he says: “There is no notebook police!” the system he describes, is his and everyone who will try this will have their own unique systems that will work with their minds and this is always encouraged.
As for me, yes, I’ll be trying to do some sort of map I’m still trying to find the right spur to kick it off and also to get the materials I’ll need brought in at home. You might ask “Why?” and I certainly wouldn’t fault you for it, for me it will be a way to map out certain recurring thoughts I keep having and hopefully it will help me find the appropriate solution to the issue. But, I suspect it will also bring with it an awakening of sorts, I will be able to locate in my thoughts the best vent for my creative energies.
Yes, I know, it sounds melodramatic but is actually quite a troubling problem where I know I have a creative ability, I see all sorts of possibilities with things like Sound Engineering, Writing, 2d/3d graphics, Photography and Drawing/Painting. I know if I concentrated on one I would be able to excel in that area but I need to make the choice and I think the map will help me do it.
Once I get going with the map, I’ll be able to post updates to this category – so if you are in the least bit interested 🙂 you can check back periodically to keep track.
